U.S. jobless claims rose to 315,000 last week
Filings for unemployment insurance benefits increase more than estimated last week to a two-month high, halting a steady decrease to the lowest level since before the financial crisis.
Initial jobless claims rose 11,000 to 315,000 in the week-ended September 6, which included the Labor Day holiday and was the highest number since June 28 according to data by the Labor Department.
An agency spokesman said data are difficult to adjust during holiday periods.
Jobless claims have been hovering near pre-crisis lows in recent times as the labor market has been gaining strength on the heels of an improving economy.

The number of people continuing to receive jobless claims rose by 9,000 to 2.49 million in the week-ended August 30.
