Sharjah International Book Fair attracts almost half a million visitors
The Sharjah International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates attracted almost half of a million visitors, smashing a global record and a record for the event since it was established in 1982.
This year, the 11-day book fair welcomed 465,000 book lovers from across the world to participate in the Sharjah International Book Fair with citizens from approximately 59 countries or more.
This fair is projected to magnetize even a larger number on the 11 th day of the event.
Last year, Sharjah International Book Fair event attracted one million book lovers, 35 percent of which were children, 40 percent were adults and the remaining 25 percent were teens.
"For Love of The Written Word" is the fair`s inspiration being one of the largest book fair in the world and the most prominent fairs of the Gulf and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) regions.
The Sharjah International Book Fair, where some of the world`s best authors and publishers gather, continue on being successful throughout the years and a constant major magnet for more tourists to enter the UAE.
