Microsoft launches Lumia in Dubai without Nokia name
The giant high-tech, Microsoft, launched in Dubai yesterday for the first time its new Lumia devices releases without the Nokia brand name.
The trademark Lumia is owned and invented by Nokia and was launched in the market since 2011 in partnership with Microsoft.
However yesterday`s launch of Lumia 535 devices in Dubai did not have as usual the Nokia brand name on it after that the company was bought in April by Microsoft for an amount of $7.2 billion.
“We have been through a transition period and we have been very open on our Lumia shipments," said the vice-president for Microsoft Devices Middle East, Jon French.
"The transition from Nokia to Microsoft has taken some time and we are confident of the future as the transition is over,” he added.
Microsoft shares plunged slightly in the New York Stock Exchange opening session today by 0.18% or 0.09 points to $48.78.
