Etisalat and du compete for TV customers a year ahead!!!
Etisalat and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), known as du , started already to compete for TV customers a year ahead of the availability of the service where customers get to choose their TV provider in United Arab Emirates.
According to the country`s telcos’ infrastructure sharing agreement, when the service is available across the UAE, customers will have the ability to choose between du and Etisalat for fixed voice and broadband access.
Up till now no specific date have been revealed for the service to take place in the country except that it will be available starting from next year as stated by the Abu Dhabi Media Summit.
Du and Etisalat have a history of harsh competition where the last race was won by Etisalat as it was the first to launch the smart home automation service back in September.
Since then the technology upgrades offered by Etisalat reinforced its position as the leading telecommunications provider in the region against its major rival "Du" which was scheduled to launch the same services but only in the first quarter of next year.
