Next week will be the busiest of the year for Dubai`s Emirates as 80,000 travelers are expected to use the airline ahead of the Christmas holidays and the New Year to head to their home or abroad.
According to Emirates recent booking figures December 19 will be one of the busiest days where 240 flights are to be used which reflect a 23 percent increase of travelers using the airline compared to the same period last year.
The airline added that other top world`s destination beside Dubai includes Mumbai, Singapore, Paris, London, Bangkok and Karachi and high passenger traffic will be witnessed significantly till December 21 st .
Extra staff has been employed by Emirates to cope with the coming high passenger traffic period while that the airports check-in counters will be opening six hours instead of three before flights throughout next week.
This year, Emirates airways grew almost by 10% for the financial year ending March 31, with the addition of 24 aircrafts. The number of passengers at the Emirati airline also increased 13.1% with 44.5 million travelling with the airline.
Emirates Airways were boosted by sponsoring six of the top European premier league teams including Arsenal, AC Milan, and Real Madrid.
On the other hand tourism in the UAE is projected to have a total value of 60 billion dirhams this year, its highest on records, while may reach 80 billion dirhams by 2024, or 12.1 percent of GDP, on expected boost in the infrastructure and hotel projects as Dubai prepares to host the 2020 EXPO.
