4k TV prices decline sharply at Dubai Shopping Festival
Prices of the ultra high-definition (UHD) also known as 4k TVs dropped further this week at Dubai Shopping Festival, almost half of last year prices as a result of the current mass production and competition.
Last year, the price of a 55-inch 4K TV at Dubai Shopping Festival was DH12,999 and now become at DH5.999 only. Even one hypermarket is even selling the same TV for DH3,999.
This explains sales growth of the latest innovational TV products across Dubai, with 4K TVs becoming the new technological trend and the mainstream choice of the public in the coming next two years.
“The trend has moved to 4K now and it is going to become the mainstream in the next two years. The production capacity has increased due to economies of scale,” said Ashish Panjabi, CEO at Jacky’s Electronics.
The new trend is not only affecting the TV and cinema world but also cameras, Smartphones and tablets, computer monitors and PC games; basically anything that displays images or record videos.
UAE has become a global market for the latest technological updates and an attractive destination for any new technological inventions. Only in the UAE, Sony opened its first world under water store last year. Dubai also became the first Arab city to have a complete Google Street View.
Such a launch was strongly expected as Dubai is voted to be the world`s top attractive city.
Dubai hosted more than 10 million global visitors last year, and likely to hosting an all-time 20 million visitors in 2020.
