Dubai Airport passenger flow to grow in 2015 according to its chief executive Paul Griffith to emphasize further its top world ranking as the busiest airport for international travelers
"The big news for 2014 was that we passed Heathrow as the number 1 airport for international passengers. We are projecting now in 2015 to add about 8 million passengers to end up the year with about 79 million passengers during which we would open a new major facility concourse D, which should facilitate some amount of growth” said Paul Griffiths.
Being one of the world`s busiest as a result of more tourists, travelers and expats arriving and leaving the emirate, Dubai’s International Airport traffic is expected to increase further every year.
Aviation and related activities are expected to contribute around $53.1 billion or 37.5 percent to Dubai`s GDP in the year 2020, creating more than 754,500 jobs.
Emirates Airline, along with Dubai Airports and the overall aviation sector, contributed around $26.7 billion or 27 percent to Dubai`s GDP and created 416,500 jobs.
